I’m a Glory Girl!
Have you ever heard of Glory Foods? Their tagline should be “Helping Folks Fake Homecooking” because you can seriously get away with throwing this stuff in a pot and saying you made it from scratch.
This may come as a shock to you, but when I first got married 95% of the meals I cooked came from a can or box and 95% of the time it was Glory’s brand. Yep it’s true. Ask my hubby. We were young, flat out broke and in love. I cooked just about everything in my handy dandy electric skillet or the one stock pot we had. I look back now and laugh at just how love struck we were. Nothing else mattered. I think I was married for about a year before I started really building my kitchen & spice stash and cooking from scratch.
I was introduced to Glory foods when I was chatting on a popular hair forum and the ladies were talking about how incredible Glory products were. The next day I picked up a Rotisserie chicken, a can of Glory collard greens, Glory black eyed peas, glory candied yams and a box of their cornbread mix. Dinner was done in a matter of minutes and tasted like grandma had stopped by! (Dang I wish I had that plate right now) This was one of the first meals I made in our new home.
Glory Foods got us through a lot of affordable, fast, southern-style meals back then and I still love and use their products today. Those prewashed and chopped collards greens around Thanksgiving time are a LIFESAVER. OMG please get those greens! It will save you so much time.
If you’ve never tried Glory foods then you are missing out honey! I have never had food come from a can or box yet still taste homemade and seasoned to perfection. They also have a ton of fresh packed and already cut produce as well like squash, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and lots more. You can check out the inventory below. I love grilling chicken breasts, cooking those sweet potatoes in brown sugar, butter and cinnamon and steaming a side of that yellow squash and zucchini. It’s such a fresh, home cooked dinner that is ready super quick since you don’t have to do all that chopping.

J RAY 76 YEARS YOUNG!
I used their collards for your recipe (I didn’t feel like doing all that washing lol) and they came out great. I might get some for the Christmas meal.
I’m obsessed with Glory food items! I’ve tried the canned collard green and potatoes. I tried the fresh packaged collard greens for the first time last year, and they were delicious!
I have only used their chopped fresh collard greens (using your recipe, of course) and I LOVE them! I just stick them in my pressure cooker and let em go! I really wish I could find some of their other bagged items like the squash and sweet potatoes. My store is limited to the greens. I’m not too much into their canned stuff, I still think there’s too much sodium. Thanks for sharing!
Can’t find the prepackaged items in my Los Angeles neighborhood but I do love the canned products and boxed mixes! If any Los Angelenos read this and you know of a store that sells the prepackaged Glory items in LA please share that info.
I LOVE GLORY TOO = )
I never knew they had all the fresh produce, I am gonna have to look around at some different stores to see if I can find them. I love their Blackeyed Peas their the BEST…. I love your website, love all your awesome recipes. I just made your Southern Homemade Sweet Potato Pie it is yum hum and SO easy. Keep up the GREAT work.
Have a great day ~
