10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse Journal

Days 6-10

So the last half of the 10-day green smoothie cleanse went by pretty uneventfully. I didn’t have any strange detox symptoms like the first half. I was in such a groove that it went by pretty quick.  Here’s what happened!

Day 6- Woke up really refreshed today and HUNGRY and craving a smoothie! I bypassed the detox tea this morning and quickly made up my smoothie and downed half of it. Geez. Not sure where that intense hunger came from but thankfully it didn’t last. I sailed through the day without any sugar cravings or cheating. Yay! I can tell I’ve lost weight. I’ve been so busy today that I only had one snack, some tuna deviled eggs.

Day 7-  I can totally do this. Even though I cheated and had a couple tater tots and a bite of Manwich. YIKES! I’m starting to really get tired of this limited snack list. I can’t believe I haven’t even craved coffee after smelling my husband brewing it every morning. My husband jumped on board with me today. Yay, it’s fun having a partner.

Day 8- I’m so ready to be done with this detox. I feel so bored but I feel great. My skin is fabulous and my nails are growing like crazy!! I wish I could have all the benefits of this detox forever. I cheated again today with Panera Bread but just a few bites. I see that my stomach is flat and so I guess I feel like I can afford it.  I really need to stop because I know I’m ruining the detox process. My husband lasted one day.  I caught him eating a triple chocolate cake smh. I wanted some so bad but I didn’t cave.

Day 9-  I’ve only had approved snacks today. I didn’t make a smoothie. I had deviled eggs for breakfast, tuna for lunch, and broccoli with cashew cream for dinner. I know that’s not good to just eat the snacks but I’m so tired of drinking smoothies. I just needed a lil break. I feel great though. I had fun trying on form fitting shirts today. Such motivation!

Day 10- Last day and I’m soooo happy! I know I’ve lost at least 5 lbs because my stomach is so much flatter. I decided to do the salt water flush for the first time this morning. Oh. My.Gosh! What did I just experience!!!?! I have never gone through anything like that before.  TMI INFO AHEAD……It really is a colon flush. Like…literally…the salt water and waste come flushing out with force…multiple times…for like…2 hours.  I just wasn’t prepared for pressure-wash syle dumps at all. Somebody should have warned me! Wow. But that process made my stomach flat as a board! Jeezus!! Who would’ve to thunk it!!!

My results:

I started off at 141 lbs and ended at 134 lbs!

I know the results would have been even more dramatic if I wouldn’t have cheated so much but I’m very happy with the results. I wanted to slim down my tummy and kick my sugar craving and this detox did just that. Now I’ve started working out a bit to help tone it up.

My Overall Opinion of the 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse

Overall, I think this is a fabulous, well-planned cleanse. JJ Smith has done a wonderful job creating this detox plan. It has truly been one of the most effective detoxes I’ve ever been on. I love how it’s just 10 days which makes it very doable. I do wish there were more snack options and options to either do a smoothie or salad. If you don’t like whole fruit smoothies then you’re out of luck with this one. I LOVE smoothies but I did get sick of this towards the end. I found myself craving different textures besides the smoothie and approved snacks. I’d definitely do this detox again in the future.

After The Cleanse

The reason I decided to do this cleanse was to mainly get my sugar craving under control and flatten this muffin top. Sugar is my weakness. Cakes, cookies, pies ..YOU NAME IT!! With Christmas coming up I knew I had to do something to tame my sweet tooth because there are a lot of parties and events coming up where sweets take center stage. This cleanse has def. help me get that under control.

Now that the cleanse is done, I don’t plan on altering my diet other than limiting my portion control when it comes to sweets. I’ve learned that I MUST exercise if I still want to enjoy my sweets on occasion (and in proportion) No more 10 cookie servings!!  Oh don’t act like you’ve never nailed a sleeve of Girls Scout Cookies in one sitting!!

My craving for sweets is down 95% and I’ve made the Salt Water Flush a part of my weekly regimen. For some reason, that flush kills my sweet tooth for days and keeps me bloat free all week. I still drink green smoothies on busy mornings (as I’ve done for many years) and love it!

Have you done the 10-day Green Smoothie Cleanse? How was it for you? Would you ever do it again??
