Ingredients
2tablespoonolive oil
1/2-1cupdiced white onion
2clovesgarlicminced
1/2teaspoonred pepper flakes
1/4cuptomato paste
1cupchicken brothdivided
114.5 oz can Italian chopped tomatoes
1tablespoonparsley
1tablespoonoregano
4-5fresh basil leavesdiced
Salt & pepper to taste.

Instructions
Heat olive oil in large skillet.
Saute' onion, garlic and red pepper flakes until onions are tender.
Add tomato paste and 1/2 cup chicken broth.
Stir to combine.
Cook for about 3 minutes.
Add tomatoes, parsley, oregano, basil and the remaining chicken broth.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add a little brown sugar to reduce the acidity of the tomatoes if needed.

TIPS
This marinara sauce does not need to sit overnight to be flavorful, but the flavor does get stronger once it's sat in the fridge overnight.
Use fresh tomatoes if you prefer.
Add white or red wine if desired.
