Instructions
Preheat oven to 350.
Make the pie crust by combining flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl.
Cut in the shortening and butter, until mixture resembles pea-size crumbs.
Add in the water and combine gently just until the water is incorporated and a dough forms.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead several times.
Press dough evenly into a lightly greased, 12-inch pizza pan.
Refridgerate for 20-30 minutes.
Add apples to a large bowl.
Toss apples with white sugar, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Spread apples evenly over cold pie crust. Set aside.
Make topping by combining flour, oats, brown sugar, and white sugar.
Cut in the butter until mixture is crumbly.
Top apples with crumb mixture.
Bake for 35 minutes.
Drizzle with caramel sauce as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Cut into wedges.
Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
