1box chocolate cake mixprepared cupcakes
Frostingprepared (any kind. I used homemade cream cheese frosting. See recipe in post)
Food coloringred, yellow, green
Sesame seedsoptional but recommended
Instructions
Prepare the yellow and chocolate cupcakes according to package but do not use baking paper. (simply spray the pans with non-stick baking spray)
When cupcakes are done, remove from pan and place on a cooling rack.
Slice the yellow cupcakes in half to create the bun.
Slice the tops off of the chocolate cupcakes to create the burger.
Divide the prepared frosting into 3 bowls.
Add one food color to each bowl until desired color is reached. (yellow for the cheese, red for the ketchup and green for the lettuce)
Place frosting in piping bags. ( I used a basket weave tip for the cheese, round tip for the ketchup and a flower tip for the lettuce)
Place the bottom bun on a flat surface.
Pipe on the yellow frosting along the rim of the bottom bun.
Top with the burger.
Drizzle ketchup along the outer edges of the burger.
Pipe the lettuce around the outer edge of the burger.
Top with the top bun.
If desired, brush the top bun lightly with sugar water and sprinkle on sesame seeds.
Serve!
