Mexican Taco Bake
Layers of seasoned beef and cheese soft tortillas and salsa! Baked to perfection for a quickand easy dinner!

ground beef

cup
water

packet Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix
1/2
cup
Ortega Taco Sauce
mild

Ortega Whole Green Chiles
minced

8-inch Ortega flour tortillas *see note*
1
cup
fresh salsa
juices drained (can use more if desired)
2 1/2
cups
Monterey Jack cheese
shredded
Toppings: sour cream
lettuce, tomatoes, olives, green onions
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a saucepan over medium heat brown ground beef.
Drain and stir in water and taco seasoning mix.
Simmer until liquid is dissolved.
Stir in taco sauce and green chiles.
Remove from heat.
Place a tortilla in the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.
Layer with 1/2 cup of meat mixture, 1/4 cup salsa, and 1/2 cup cheese. (can use more if desired)
Repeat layers, ending with tortilla.
Top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted throughout.
Slice and serve.
Top with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, black olive, and green onions.
Notes
Toast the tortilla lightly if you prefer a bit of a crunch to them.
