Prep Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 24 balls

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour, Used pasteurized flour, if you're nervous about raw flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • vegetable oil, if needed

  • In a large bowl cream together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms.
  • Stir in mini chocolate chips.
  • Using a mini ice cream scoop, scoop out dough and roll into a ball.
  • Place cookie dough balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Freeze for about 30 minutes or until partially frozen.
  • Melt milk chocolate chips according to package, adding a little vegetable oil if needed.
  • Dip cookie dough balls into melted chocolate and let excess drip off. (see note)
  • Place back on pan and place into fridge until chocolate has firmed up.
  • Store in the fridge.

To dip the frozen balls I inserted a wooden skewer into them. (Be careful not to insert it too far into the dough or the ball will split in half. Use a small, deep bowl for the chocolate so that all you'll have to do is dip the balls straight down and then back out.
