My husband got me a bottle of my favorite wine for my birthday, but since I was pregnant at the time I had to wait before cracking it open. The perfect day finally arrived this week when my newborn decided to cut me some slack by taking a long evening nap. Hallelujah! homemade chili cheese crisps recipe cracker barrel

These are easy to customize with various spices!

I popped open that delicious wine, made some homemade chili cheese crisps, grabbed a novel, and curled up on my favorite couch. Let’s just say that I never opened my novel because I was too busy snacking away on these addictive, homemade chili cheese crisps and sipping wine. Something about the combination of wine and cheese is simply magical. And these little crisps are way too easy to make for being so addictive. If you’ve never had homemade cheese crisps then you are in for a real treat. These crunchy, salty, snacks are pure comfort food and they smell divine while baking. Great for wine & cheese parties as well.

The one thing you want to be sure to use when making these is a good, quality cheese. I mean, after all cheese is the main ingredient here. I used Cracker Barrel’s award-winning Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Its tangy, slightly sweet taste was perfect with the spices and tasted just as good baked as it does plain.

Grab a glass of wine and get to snacking!

I can only imagine how amazing the other flavors of Cracker Barrel cheese would taste in cheese crisp form, like the Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese or the Mediterranean Herb cheese (you can visit their website to learn more!). Oh yes, I will be trying those next!! Low carb dieters rejoice and make these!!
