Green Tea Lemon Water – Hello Beautiful Morning Complexion Drink
I’m not sure what to call this drink..lemon water? Green tea with lemon, honey, cayenne, and cinnamon? Yeah… so I just call it “Hello Beautiful” morning tea because I drink it first thing in the morning and it makes my skin look sooooo pretty and radiant when I drink it consistently.
I usually always slack off when I run out of fresh lemons but I’m determined to keep up with it this year. There are so many benefits to the ingredients in this tea. Just do a google search and you will be flooded with information about it helping with circulation, acne, weight loss, cholesterol, diseases, detoxing, and all kinda good stuff.
Drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. It’s suppose to help with metabolism a lot and get your body in motion and feeling fabulous! Honestly I’m not sure how I feel about it as a “weight management” drink because I use it to detox my skin.
It works great at evening out my skin tone. I also use plain green tea as a facial toner. It’s so amazing!!

Get the Recipe: Green Tea Lemon Water -Morning Drink
Ingredients
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 organic green tea bag
- 1 cinnamon stick, I reuse my cinnamon stick several times
- 1/2- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- pinch of cayenne
Instructions
- Steap tea and cinnamon stick in hot water for 5-10 minutes
- Stir in honey, lemon juice, and cayenne
- Drink immediately.
I like this recipe. I drink this first thing in the morning and then throughout the day i have a 2.3 litre jug of water with one cup of green tea added and a whole sliced lemon and if i have them a few mint leaves. I like this water and bit of green tea to balance out the dehydration from the green tea alone.
Thanks for sharing this! I tried it this morning and I had to rush to the bathroom after drinking and threw up….any ideas why??? I drank it first thing in the morning before having anything else. Is it something you just have to get used it? I did like the taste of it! Thanks!!
That’s SO a green tea thing! I have to drink it slowly or not on an empty stomach to be able to keep it down ????
I watched a video made by someone who is a retailer of green tea. He says we should not drink it on an empty stomach. The reason is because green tea is meant to help with digestion, but when you drink it first thing in the morning there is nothing in your stomach to digest. This can make you sick.
I am so thankful to have found your website. This recipe is great! I actually look forward to waking up and drinking it. I was a little nervous about the cayenne pepper.. but slowly I am working my way up to a 1/4 teaspoon of the hot stuff. I use organic lemons from Trader Joe’s and I use the whole lemon (peel and pulp, no seeds). Organic lemons are smaller and their skin is not as thick also no bad stuff. It has many health benefits to eat the whole lemon. Thank you for helping me get my day off to a healthy start!
