Nourishing Milk & Honey Soap
“Homemade nourishing milk and honey soap recipe with fresh honey, goat milk and nourishing oils. Melt n pour soap made without lye.”
Watch me make this Nourishing Milk & Honey Soap From Start To Finish!
Have you ever tried making your own soap? If not let me warn you, once you start it’s pretty hard to stop if you like things like this. I’ve been making my own soap for years. I have yet to fool around with making my own soap base though. You know, the kind with lye and stuff. Nope, not interested. Lye scares the crap out of me!
However, every time I talk to a real soap maker they tell me “oh lye isn’t that bad at all! You just have to know how to handle it” Um…so…yeah..about that. I prefer to buy the pure melt n pour soap base already prepared and then just add what I love to it! Simple, easy and fun!
I can’t even tell you how many soap recipes I’ve tried and loved. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever made one that I didn’t love. Even if it didn’t turn out right for one thing I’ve always found a way to use it for something else. Like that time when I made charcoal tomato soap (yeah that’s a thing) to use outside in my garden. Well…it wasn’t quite strong enough to cut through soiled hands but it worked AMAZING on my face! It toned and softened my skin so beautifully! Yep I’ll post that recipe soon!
Today I’m going to share with you this really simple recipe for milk and honey soap. It’s one of my favorites and great for first timers!
I love this soap so much and when I gift soaps, this one is usually in the mix. It’s gentle, so moisturizing, smells very light and has such a creamy lather. I used a very similar soap recipe on my babies when they were little and it kept their skin baby soft and clean. Burt’s Bees who?
My grandmother loves when I send her my homemade products in the mail so I thought for Mother’s Day I’d make a her a huge gift basket full of natural products, including this Milk & Honey soap.
I like to gift my soaps in containers that can be used for other purposes. How cute is this honey pot?? Perfect for milk and honey soap! Just make sure that whatever container you use that it’s airtight.
For the base I’m using goat milk. I buy all of my products from Amazon because you just can’t beat that Prime 1 -day honey!! But you can probably find these ingredients in whole food or a craft store.
Items Used
I don’t add any scents or colorants to the soap. I really prefer the natural scent and color. The natural scent smells very light and fresh, like fresh milk with a hint of almond from the sweet almond oil. The natural color is a pale cream.
Packaging This Nourishing Milk & Honey Soap
There are few tips you need to know about packaging melt n pour soaps. If you’ve been making melt n pour soaps then you know all about the “sweat” or glycine dew as it’s called. It’s when the soap sits and form little tiny beads on the surface that looks like fine dew. Melt n Pour soaps contains glycerin which is a humectant. It naturally draws moisture from the air. This is why it makes your skin so yummy and moisturized! I don’t mind the little beads on my soap but if you’re gifting this soap to people you might not care for them. Here’s how I prevent the little beads from forming when I’m going to gift the soap.
How to prevent glycerin beads from forming on soap:
Wrap the soap tightly in plastic wrap or shrink wrap as soon as it’s completely hardened. Then place it in an airtight container with a silica packet on the bottom.
Now it’s ready for gift giving! I hope you enjoy this easy, inexpensive, luxury milk and honey soap as much as we do!

Hello,
What is the weight of one soap bar dear?
I have ordered the mould like yours. I just wanted that small information.
Thank you.

Hi, I just LOVE your blog. I just have a few questions, I’m a newbie making soap????
I’ve just got some soap base, but it’s not with goat milk, but I can see that yours contains glycerin as well.
My question is can I make the soap just like you do, or will my soap base act differently?
Oh, and I just purchased the honeycomb mold. I’m SO excited, I can’t wait to get started❤️
Have a lovely day! ????????
Thanks love! What kind of soap base did you get?
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply didn’t see it before now?
I got a glycerin soap base, but not a clear one.
I’m still waiting for the mold, but I have made my first soap, purple hearts with a little white heart inside, and I added lilac sense. They came out really nice. My son in law wants some for his mother and grandmother?❤️
So, can I make these and they would still be perfect months or a year or years later? Same goes for the goat milk block thing. Will that stay perfect for a year or years later? Will it go bad?
