My Natural Skin Care Regimen
I think that after almost 30 years I finally understand my skin. This year we’ve developed an understanding and I FINALLY “get it”. I get her! She hates store bought skin products. Why couldn’t the bitch just tell me that from the beginning! It could have saved me sooo much money and embarrassing break outs!
Anyway, I had a love/hate relationship with my skin for a long time. Sometimes she behaved and sometimes no matter what products I tried that girl just did whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. Since the start of this year I have been trying natural skin care products, just trying to find something that gavee me lasting results (longer than 2 weeks which is what store-bought items tends to do!)
I must say that I am LOVING all natural skin care and don’t have any plans of changing up the game plan anytime soon! I’m completely hooked! My skin has never glowed this much. EVER! Even after I swore off fried foods and drank tons of water.
Having balanced skin makes you look healthy, happy, younger and refreshed. I’m so happy to finally have something that works! I now have control of my skin instead of it being the other way around! …..Whoa that was such a commercial line LOL
So here is my current skin care regimen: (all of these products can be found in good ol’ Walmart or Target. Although you will probably have to go to a health food store to get the cocoa butter soap)
Cleanser- Cocoa Butter Soap with tea tree and olive oil.
Exfoliate- Coffee Scrub
Moisturizer- Olive oil and aloe vera. or Aura Glow body oil (when I have it)
Tone- Green tea wash or Apple cider vinegar
Anti-Aging- Castor Oil
Dark Circles and Bags – Potato juice
- A good skin-tightening mask
- A good black-head peel
- A good skin brightening spray
Hello Monique, have you used the black soap? I have ezema so I have to be very careful with everything. Stay blessed!
Amazing issues here. I’m very happy to look your article.
Thanks a lot and I’m looking ahead to touch you.
Will you please drop me a e-mail?
I was breaking out horribly with cystic acne on my cheeks and chin… I tried every chemical laden product on the planet and nothing helped. Turns out I have a dairy intolerance. It took me a long time and a lot of research to realize what was causing it, or maybe I just didn’t want to believe it… no more ice cream or cheese for me 🙁 So now I use all natural products and cut out dairy, and my skin is seriously improving.
I wash my face with African black soap for acne prone skin by Shea Moisture with my Clarisonic Mia.
I tone with rosewater witch hazel (alcohol free) by Thayers.
I moisturize with argan oil which is really great for healing acne scars.
Once a week I exfoliate with a baking soda paste, then I use a french green clay mask.
Hey! I stumbled across your YouTube channel sophomore year in college when I got my first apartment and I must say you are a life changer!!!! I was 200 miles away from my Granny but I learned how to do a lot b/c of you! Anyway back to the subject at hand: natural skin products. This year I have been really into natural remedies for hair and skin…I don’t have a skin-brightening spray but I what I do is cut a lemon in half and pour honey on it and apply it to my face nightly. It makes my skin GLOW and the acid from the lemon brightens the dark acne scars naturally! Hope it helps
